How I Write: A Round Robin Blog Tour

I want to give a big thanks to Laura Matson Hahn, author of THE HEART CODE for inviting me to a Round Robin Blog Tour! I had the pleasure of interviewing her on her first incarnation of this historic adventure, romantic philosophy and universal story of the heart’s wisdom book told through the rich family conversations with a Bohemian grandmother. This annual writer’s invitational blog tour connects and informs about the writer’s process. You can read about Laura’s writing process at: TheHeartCode.com. Below are my answers to the tour questions about my writing process.

1) What am I working on?

get out of hot water fast - Ruth Anne WoodI just created the digital version of GET OUT OF HOT WATER FAST- How I Saved My Clients From Pending Financial, Legal and Relationship Problems In Less Than 30 Days With 90 Minute Conversations. It’s a quick guide for helping professionals shift their mental and emotional focus from the fearful legal, financial or relationship drama in their lives to happy, loving, dream come true results. It’s helped people hoping to resolve issues or proactively turn one’s focus on ideal client, vendor, employee, joint venture, subcontractors, volunteers and/or family relationships.

Once they went through this step-by-step training outlined in the book my clients reported financial legal and relationship miracles in 30 days or less. The same process for helping my clients and students who also wanted to quantum leap to the next level of relationship and financial success is also shared. This includes stories on getting an unexpected flood of clients when they almost had to close their doors, to paying off large debts, to receiving an unexpected college gift from a distant relative (valued at $100K). This happened once people went through the GET OUT OF HOT WATER FAST process and stopped worrying about the legal, financial and relationship challenges and immediately set to work on creating a new focus: the best case scenario to their current problems.

2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?

GET OUT OF HOT WATER FAST is a Non-Fiction, “How To”, “Biographical” “Success” focused guidebook that appeals to:

  1. Business: Entrepreneurs ready to quantum leap to the next level of service and income.
  2. Management: In charge of hiring, firing and vendor, subcontractor relationships and how to avoid bad, costly relationships or resolve ones that have gone south.
  3. Success Mindset: How to overcome professional problems through effective communication with yourself and others through clarity and positive focus.
  4. Spirituality & Wisdom: Unlocking the solutions and abundant resources already available to you.
  5. How-To: Actual steps you can follow to get financial, legal and relationship clarity and positive victories.
  6. Age 51 plus: Who has an average reserve of mental and emotionally untapped resources valued between $200K-$500K and how to tap into it.

3) Why do I write what I do?

For over a decade I’ve been helping people write their “happily-ever-after” success stories in a process/ business I call “Scripting For Success”. The most profound and exciting results I have experienced have been with people who had very negative financial, legal and relationship challenges that needed to put out fires quickly. When I listened to stories about client problems, they had put themselves in the position of checkmate noting no other options to their dilemma. I wanted to create a step-by-step guide of what went on during these “miracle” consulting session. (“A miracle is a shift from fear to love” = Course Of Miracles) I wanted to demonstrate how these clients went from a place of fear with no happy way out – to receiving unexpected financial, legal and relationship support, synchronicities, opportunities and resources (that matched their specific “scripted” we created during these 90 minute conversations.

4) How does your writing process work?

Much of my writing is short stories and screenplays that are character driven with inspirational conversations directly from these characters. In this particular book, GET OUT OF HOT WATER FAST I was inspired by one of my mentors who wrote a step-by-step book on how he makes over $100K a month as a marketing consultant. I thought, I help people create miracles, “A shift of perception from fear to love” -A Course Of Miracles. So I copied his entire inviting, engaging, story telling how-to book structure in his book and inserted my own stories, case studies, personal journey and step-by-step process.

I found reading other peoples bios and books on rags to riches triumph stories helped stimulate my imagination and recall meaningful stories in my own journey. As a licensed massage therapist, I also filled in for my friend on maternity leave massaging her clients for a month and it reminded me how much the general public needed these tools to much more easily focus on the positive and what’s already going well in life to more easily manifest and cut down on stress and aches and pains.

The physical activity of engaging with one-on-one clients on the massage table, driving an hour round trip (instead of walking across the hall in my P.J.’s) to a job, listening to inspirational books on CD and having lots of structured routine between massage clients was just the juice I needed to quickly write this book. By the end of the car ride or massage I’d have the wording and content figured out from all that quiet contemplation and lack of internet access in her office during a series of snow storms. This kept me focused and energized and as I wrote in energized spurts of time in the fifteen minutes or a couple hour break between massage clients. Now that I’m back to my old home office schedule, my writing consists of social media and marketing to share the step-by-step process of creating relationship, legal and financial miracles shared in the quick and powerful read.
